Pizzani created this series of twelve unique photograms in the Canary Islands, using the bright winter solstice sun of 2021. Inking fantastical anthropomorphic lifeforms onto paper, she then arranges locally foraged leaves, branches and seeds over the photosensitive ink, leaving semi transparent shadows with their silhouettes. Pizzani's family emigrated from Venezuela to the Canaries. The artist, who also worked as a wildlife conservationist, decided to forage plants on the island. Some plants were indigenous, and others, like her family, had taken root from elsewhere.
